What Benefits are YOU Looking for in Jesus...With Seat at the Table?

John 2:23-25 New International Version (NIV)

23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name.[a] 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

In presidential campaigns, a lot of people wait until a candidate gains momentum, and then they jump on board and support that candidate. They might do some fundraising or help out at a rally because they hope that once the candidate is elected they will get a “seat at the table.” Maybe they will get a cabinet position or be appointed as an ambassador to a really important country. People have seen and heard about the amazing things that Jesus did and they start latching on to him. They want to be a part of the revolution. But Jesus did not play the politician. He knew that he was going to the cross. What benefits are you hoping Jesus will give you?
