Go. Live. Love. Serve. You are Forgiven!

Luke 4:38-39 New International Version

Jesus Heals Many 38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

The authoritative and powerful word of God is at work again! This time it is rebuking physical illness. On one hand Jesus is fulfilling Old Testament prophecies that “proclaims liberty to the captives” (Luke 4:18). On the other hand Jesus is pointing ahead to the day when “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore” (Rev. 21:4). But notice what happens when Jesus heals the mother of his disciple, Peter. She goes back to her ordinary, normal life. The powerful and authoritative word of God sets us free to live! You are forgiven and set free! Don’t live in fear or anxiety. Go. Live. Love. Serve. Be a parent, spouse, friend, neighbor. You are forgiven!
